Why Does Sugaring Need to Come First?

A spray tan develops in the outermost layer of your skin.

Body sugaring removes hair from the root and also lifts dead surface skin cells.

That's one of the reasons skin feels so smooth afterward.

Fantastic before a tan.

Not fantastic immediately after one.

If we sugar over an existing spray tan, we can remove some of that surface colour and leave you with uneven patches.

How Long Should I Wait Between Sugaring and My Spray Tan?

Freshly sugared skin can sometimes be sprayed sooner, but for many clients, giving the skin some time to settle is the better choice.

If you're prone to redness or sensitivity after sugaring, we'll want that completely calmed before applying your spray tan.

What If I Shave Instead?

Also shave before your spray tan.

Shaving after a tan provides some physical exfoliation and can shorten the life of your colour.

Ideally, finish shaving ahead of time so your skin is calm and ready for tanning.

Should I Exfoliate Before or After Sugaring?

If you're getting professionally sugared, don't attack your skin with an aggressive exfoliation routine immediately afterward.

We'll prepare your skin appropriately for both services.

If you're planning everything yourself, your main exfoliation should happen before your spray tan, with enough time for your skin to settle.

The goal is a smooth canvas.
